Yorkshire have decided to furlough “a large proportion” of the club’s staff due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The club has opted to make use of the government’s Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme which allows employers to claim for 80 per cent of furloughed staff’s wages, with a limit of £2,500 a month.
Headingley is currently closed due to the United Kingdom’s current lockdown. A statement said “the club will continue to operate with a skeleton staff during the lockdown period.”

“By taking advantage of the government’s Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme, we are able to preserve jobs at Yorkshire Cricket during such a difficult financial period.”
The ECB announced last week that no professional cricket is to be played in England and Wales before at least May 28.
