The first-ever auction for the Women’s Premier League will be held on February 13 in Mumbai — here’s where you can watch the 2023 WPL auction live, along with TV and streaming details.
A total of 409 players will go under the hammer when the first auction for the Women’s Premier League (WPL) will be held live on Monday. The BCCI had received a total of 1,525 registrations for the maiden WPL season, from which 409 players made the final cut. 246 Indians and 163 overseas players will be up for grabs to fill a maximum of 90 spots among all five teams.
The five teams – belonging to Lucknow, Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Bengaluru and Delhi – can bid for a minimum of 15 players each, with a maximum of 18 players. They can purchase seven overseas players, including one from an Associate country. Each team has been given a purse of INR 12 crore (approx USD 1.46 million). A minimum of INR 9 crore will have to be spent by each of the five sides.
Teams will be permitted to field five overseas players in their XI during the WPL only on the condition that at least one player is from an Associate Nation.

Each player has registered their base prices in slabs of INR 50 lakh, INR 40 lakh, INR 30 lakh, INR 20 lakh or INR 10 lakh. A total 24 players have chosen the top bracket of INR 50 lakh, including India stars Smriti Mandhana, Shafali Verma, Harmanpreet Kaur, Harmanpreet Kaur, Richa Ghosh, Jemimah Rodrigues and Deepti Sharma. Some overseas players with a base price of INR 50 lakh are Ellyse Perry, Sophie Ecclestone, Deandra Dottin, Meg Lanning and Alyssa Healy.
