Listen to Episode 5 of the Wisden Cricket podcast.
After all the controversy of Adil Rashid’s Test recall, the Wisden team get together to talk all things selection, preview the upcoming England-India series and take a look at what’s coming up in issue 10 of the Wisden Cricket Monthly, out Thursday August 2.
Joining Vithushan Ehantharajah and editor-in-chief Phil Walker are WCM’s Australian correspondent Adam Collins and Surrey and England off-spinner Gareth Batty.
Batty, who played on the tour of India – the last time Rashid turned out in England whites – gives his thoughts on the leg-spinners inclusion and whether it is a move that diminishes the worth of county cricket. He also talks about Surrey’s season so far, which sees them leading Division One and gunning for their first County Championship title in 16 years.

In among all that, there’s a brief intermission to fawn over Darren Gough, a story about a young, chubby Virat Kohli and a discussion on leg pumps. Yeah, exactly.
