Oshane Thomas’ first over in the Bangladesh Premier League clash between Khulna Tigers and Chittagong Kings lasted 12 deliveries after he bowled three no-balls and two wides to kickstart proceedings.
Playing for Khulna, who had made 203-4 batting first, Thomas took the new ball against Naeem Islam. He erred on his very first delivery, bowling a no-ball but seemed to have recovered after an accurate ball delivery at the stumps next up.
What followed was a comedy of errors: He bowled another no-ball, which was also sent for a six, before conceding two extra runs courtesy of two wides. Another no-ball followed, off which Islam hit a four.
By that point, Thomas had already conceded 15 runs in one legal delivery and it took him five attempts to bowl the first two legal balls of his over. He finally had some respite when he bowled two dots in a row, but that was not the end of his miseries. There was another no-ball in the over, but the extra delivery resulted in the wicket of Islam on the fifth legal ball.
Thomas ended the over after 12 attempts and gave away 18 runs. It was the only over he sent down in Chittagong's unsuccessful run chase.
He has played 21 T20Is for the West Indies, picking up 21 scalps at an average of 30.38 and an economy rate of 9.38. He also played 25 ODIs. He last represented the international side in February 2024.
