The 12th season of the Women’s Big Bash League will kick off on Thursday, October 29, and will run till December 5. Check out how you can catch all the live action.
The WBBL 2026 is set to feature a total of 43 matches, including three knockouts on December 1, 3, and 5. Junction Oval, Melbourne will host the opening day with Melbourne Renegades and Sydney Thunder locking horns in the afternoon fixture, and Melbourne Stars taking on the reigning champions Hobart Hurricanes in the second.
At the end of the 40-match league stage, the team finishing at the top will directly qualify for the final while the third- and fourth-placed sides clash in the Knockout. The winner of that game then takes on the second-placed team in the Challenger for a ticket to the final.
The Hurricanes, who defeated the Perth Scorchers in the final last season, suffered a blow with Danni Wyatt-Hodge getting ruled out but have salvaged it by bringing in Chamari Athapaththu. Brisbane Heat lost veteran all-rounder Jess Jonassen to a hip injury, and have signed Yastika Bhatia, who will be the only Indian player in the tournament.
