Watch: Will Young took a brilliant catch to dismiss South Africa’s Marco Jansen, with the grab instantly hailed as one of the best catches in Test history.

Young’s effort came in the 79th over of the South Africa innings. The Proteas had already built a healthy lead of 290 runs and were looking to extend their advantage quickly, with Jansen going hard at a delivery from Colin de Grandhomme.

The shot was well timed and seemed to be headed for a boundary.

But Young, stationed on the leg-side fence, sprinted round before sticking out his left hand, managing to pluck the ball just before it reached the boundary line.

The commentators were in disbelief even as the New Zealand fielders were jubilant.

The catch saw several reactions from across the globe, with some referring to it as the best they had ever seen.
