Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan made headlines yesterday with his actions in a Dhaka Premier League game, smashing the stumps twice in anger at the actions of the umpires.

Shakib has since apologised for the dual outburst, but this isn’t the first time he’s taken his frustration out on some unsuspecting timber. In a 2016 Asia Cup game against Pakistan, he lost his cool after, swinging his bat at the stumps after being bowled by Mohammad Amir.

Bangladesh had the upper hand in the contest, having restricted Pakistan to 129-7. However, Shakib’s sluggish innings, of 8 off 13, had left the game in the balance. He went for an expansive shot, looking to scoop, but missed. After his frustrated reaction, he immediately held up his hand in apparent apology. However, Shakib was still found guilty of a level 1 breach of the ICC Code of Conduct, and fined 50 per cent of his match fee.

Bangladesh were beaten in the final of the competition by India.
