Watch Virat Kohli say India aren’t “complaining about pitches” or “conditions” after an overseas loss in South Africa during India’s 2018 tour to the country.
While the pitch debate is raging after the two-day pink ball Test in Ahmedabad, with former cricketers and pundits weighing in on the debate, a press conference from 2018 has started doing the rounds on social media. In it, Virat Kohli, who was at the receiving end of some of the comments from critics after he called the third Test surface a ” very good pitch to bat on”, is seen swaying away from the pitch debate after India’s 135-run loss in Centurion in South Africa.
“We are not complaining about Cape Town either,” Kohli said. “The game was finished in three days, one was a washout. So look, we are not complaining about pitches, we are not complaining about conditions. We have come here to play. As I said, we have had equal opportunities to win in both games, and that’s the positive we can take out of it, but I’m not sitting here comforting my guys. So I don’t know what you are listening to, but I’m asking everyone to be hard on themselves.”
