Speaking after Eoin Morgan won the toss and opted for his side to field first, Kohli said: “It’s good that the series is poised in a way where we’re 2-1 up.” While India’s victory in the second T20I certainly was dominant, it wasn’t enough to merit them being awarded an extra win for their effort.
After the game, Kohli’s side found themselves 2-1 down in the series despite an excellent knock from the captain himself. A three-wicket haul from Mark Wood and an unbeaten half-century from Jos Buttler saw England register a comfortable victory.
