Watch: Yuvraj Singh slammed a quickfire half-century for India Champions during their World Championship of Legends 2024 semi-final against Australia.
Be it the 2007 T20 World Cup semi-final or the unbeaten fifty in the 2011 ODI World Cup quarter-final, Yuvraj Singh has always been a thorn in the flesh for Australia whenever they met India in a global tournament. Years have passed since Yuvraj retired from international cricket. Still, the pugnacious left-hand batter continues to torment Australia, this time in the inaugural edition of the WCL, a T20 competition contested by former international stars of various countries.
Leading India Champions, Yuvraj smashed a blistering 28-ball 59 runs to help his team post a mammoth 254-6 in Northampton. His vintage, butter-smooth bat swing was on show once again, reminiscing his glory days.
Yuvraj smashed four fours and five sixes during his belligerent knock, a few of which came off his trademark slog-sweep which he used to hit while sitting on one knee. His innings was also filled with a deft touch, as he guided Ben Laughlin for a boundary through deep third in the 12th over.
In reply, Australia managed 168-7 as Dhawal Kulkarni and Pawan Negi took two wickets each. India will now face Pakistan Champions in the final on Saturday (July 13).
