Brisbane Heat’s encounter with Adelaide Strikers in the BBL on Wednesday featured an umpiring error, following just a day on from Andrew Tye’s exchange with an umpire in the tournament over a not-out decision.

Batting for the Heat, Tom Cooper was adjudged to be lbw to a delivery from Danny Briggs, but replays showed that Cooper had hit the ball with his bat onto the pad as he played a reverse-dab.

On commentary for Fox Cricket, Shane Warne remarked: “What is going on with this umpiring? Something has to be done, this is just ridiculous. Not another one.”

The decision followed on from umpiring controversy in Tuesday’s encounter between the Perth Scorchers and Sydney Thunder. Scorchers quick Tye questioned the umpire’s not-out decision after Usman Khawaja appeared to edge the ball through to the wicketkeeper.
