Watch: Sri Lanka’s Maheesh Theekshana cracked open West Indies’ top order with three wickets in four overs during their World Cup Qualifier Super Six match in Harare.

Three of West Indies’ top four fell to Theekshana’s guile, including captain Shai Hope, who was out plumb to a carrom ball, leaving his side three down after 10.1 overs.

The ball to Hope was floated on good length but skidded through the surface, rushing into Hope, who was pushed to his leg stump in an attempt to work it away. Hit on the back pad, he had little hope of surviving, and was adjudged out, not deciding to review.

Earlier, Brandon King was cleaned up by Theekshana, attempting to sweep the ball away, while Shamarh Brooks was caught behind, with a review reversing the umpire’s not out decision.

Before he was switched out of the attack, Theekshana’s figures read 5-0-18-3.

Sri Lanka are already qualified for the World Cup, while West Indies are unable to qualify.
