Chasing 151, Dutch opener Michael Levitt cut a back-of-length delivery from Mark Adair off the opening over. The ball pierced the infield and seemed headed for a certain boundary.

Three Ireland fielders sprinted in pursuit of the ball, with harry Tector leading the chase. He dived and pushed the ball back in the air, just managing to keep it away from touching the boundary. Gareth Delany came in support and volleyed back the airborne ball inside the rope, which was then intercepted by George Dockrell, who hurled a full-blooded throw from the deep.

As a result, a single was saved for the brilliant fielding effort. Coincidentally, the collective save proved to be the point of difference between the two sides, as Ireland won the match just by one run in the end as the Netherlands finished on 149-8.

Adair was adjudged the Player of the Match for his all-round effort of 49 (24) and 2-34.
