Watch: Tabraiz Shamsi’s trademark telephone celebration during the first T20I against Pakistan was followed by a hilarious incident where Pite van Biljon hid his shoe.
Shamsi is fond of a creative celebration, with using his shoe as a telephone one of his most favoured.
“The shoe phone celebration is just a fun thing I’ve done over the years and means no disrespect to the opposition,” Shamsi explained.
The shoe phone came out twice in the first South Africa-Pakistan T20I, first when Shamsi had Fakhar Zaman caught in the deep and again when he had Mohammad Hafeez stumped.
The No.1 ranked ICC T20I bowler deceived Hafeez, playing his 100th T20I game, with a googly, but came in for a surprise once the celebration was over.
Once the antics were done, Van Biljon took his shoe and cheekily hid it under his jersey and Shamsi was left searching for the one missing boot, animatedly querying his mates about the shoe.
