Watch: Shadab Khan was the star performer in Sussex’s win over Glamorgan in a T20 Blast clash, first making 87* with the bat and then effecting a brilliant run out after stopping the ball with his feet on his follow-through besides also picking up a wicket.

Walking in to bat at 44-4, Pakistan all-rounder Shadab played the rescue act to perfection, scoring a fine 53-ball 87* with five fours and as many sixes. His innings helped take Sussex to 182-6 as they looked for a vital win.

Shadab’s contributions spilt over to the second innings as well, where he sent down his four overs for 1-26. He was also responsible for sending back wicketkeeper Chris Cooke with a brilliant run-out, displaying his game awareness.

On the first ball of the 15th over, the striker Cam Fletcher played a Shadab delivery powerfully back to the bowler. The ball seemed to be headed towards the boundary but Shadab put out his right foot swiftly on his follow-through before picking up the ball and running over to the non-striker’s stumps. Cooke, at the other end, had gone down the pitch and his attempt at reaching back safely was unsuccessful as Shadab broke the stumps with his hands by then.
