India took on South Africa in their maiden T20 international in 2006 at Johannesburg, which ended with a six-wicket win for the visitors. The result was made sweeter by the fact that their most successful cricketer made a mark on the game.
Tendulkar trapped Justin Kemp in front of the wicket in the South African innings, as the hosts were restricted to 126-9. Pitching the ball in line, he got the ball to turn just a little bit to outfox the batsman in the 12th over.
Sachin could contribute just 10 with the bat, but India won easily thanks to 30s from Virender Sehwag, Dinesh Mongia and Dinesh Karthik.
