Prithvi Shaw accidentally fired a wild throw directed towards Rohit Sharma during Day 1 of the ongoing fourth Test in Brisbane.
The incident occurred during the 53rd over of the Australian innings, the penultimate one before tea, bowled by Washington Sundar. Marnus Labuschagne clipped a good-length delivery angling into his pads towards square-leg and set off for a quick single.
Prithvi Shaw, the fielder fired the ball towards the non-striker’s end, only for it to find Rohit Sharma, stationed at short mid-wicket, on its way. Replays suggested that Rohit hadn’t anticipated the throw coming to that end, or perhaps the fact that he could be in its way, thereby reacting a bit late.
Thankfully, it looked all good for India’s vice-captain, who made an awkward attempt to defend himself, before appearing unhappy with the throw.
