Watch: Rishabh Pant, known for his energetic presence behind the stumps, attracted particular attention on social media after he made loud, high-pitched indiscernible noises on day one of the fourth Test between India and England in Ahmedabad.
The wicketkeeper has always been a character on the field, offering entertainment with his consistent chatter and quirky quips behind the stumps. His peculiar behaviour was on display once again on the first day against England.
One of the funniest moments of the first morning came in the 25th over of the game, with Jonny Bairstow on strike. Axar Patel bowled a straighter delivery, which was flicked to the onside by the right-hander. Pant, being the character that he is, took his reaction to the next level, extending it way beyond a regular shout of encouragement.
