Rashid Khan fifty in Shpageeza League

Watch: In a Shpageeza Cricket League 2024 match against Amo Sharks, Speen Ghar Tigers captain Rashid Khan hit a valiant 26-ball 53 not out.

In a match reduced to 17 overs a side, Amo Sharks posted 166-3 after captain Azmatullah Omarzai won the toss and opted to bat at the Kabul International Cricket Stadium.

The bulk of the runs came from opener Zubaid Akbari, who top-scored with a 45-ball 82 that included three sixes. Bowling first-change, Speen Ghar Tigers captain Rashid Khan claimed 1-20 from his three overs. The match was hit by rain again, leaving the Tigers to chase 139 in 12 overs, and Fazalhaq Farooqi (5-13) took four wickets with his first 10 balls to reduce them to 20-5.

At this point Rashid walked out and launched an incredible onslaught, blasting his way to a 26-ball 53 with six sixes out of a stand of 73 in six overs. When he fell, the Tigers needed 46 in 20 balls, but they could add only 18 to finish on 112-9 as Qais Ahmad (2-15) struck twice.

No.5 Ikram Alikhil, who had played the foil to Rashid during their partnership, remained unbeaten with a 23-ball 31. He was the only other batter of the side to reach double figures.
