The supporter, clad in full whites, had ‘Jarvo 69’ emblazoned on the back of his replica India shirt, and walked out with the team after lunch.

As he was accosted by a steward, ‘Jarvo’ could be seen gesticulating towards the crest on his shirt, as if contesting that he was actually one of India’s players. His effort was in vain and he was escorted off the field of play, but he did at least entertain Siraj, with the India fast bowler laughing heartily in the aftermath of the incident.

With India having gone wicketless in the first session, might Virat Kohli have been tempted to give Jarvo a bowl?
