Watch: Pakistan star Shaheen Afridi played a crucial cameo lower down the order for the Notts Outlaws in the T20 Blast yesterday (June 8) at Trent Bridge.

Nottinghamshire jumped to the top of the table in the North Group of the T20 Blast with their victory over Durham yesterday (June 8). They have five wins from eight games and are currently the only team with ten points in the North Group.

Having been put into bat by Durham, they lost opener Joe Clarke in the first over for a duck. Alex Hales and Colin Munro then combined to stitch a rapid 83-run second-wicket partnership off just 43 balls.

Munro narrowly missed out on his half-century as he fell for 49 off 28. Almost every other batter in the middle order contributed in some sort with the lowest score from the No.2 to the No.8 batter being 11.

Shaheen Afridi came out to bat at No.8 when the score was 153-6 in the 17th over. He faced just seven balls and scored 11 runs, including a crucial blow over mid-wicket off the bowling of Bas de Leede.

Eventually, Durham fell short by 26 runs, registering their third defeat of the season. They now sit at No.4 on the table.
