Watch: Naseem Shah took three wickets on his red-ball comeback during the opening day of the unofficial Test between Pakistan Shaheens and Bangladesh A in Islamabad.

The visiting Bangladesh batters had a torrid time in the middle, getting bowled out for 122 in 44.3 overs. Naseem Shah (3-24), the wrecker-in-chief, received support from partner in crime Mir Hamza (3-33). Having suffered an injury in last year’s Asia Cup, Naseem returned to the red-ball format after a long hiatus.

The tearaway pacer picked up three wickets, the same as Hamza after Shaheens captain Saud Shakeel put in Bangladesh A in. Naseem first struck by snaring opposition captain Anamul Haque for seven with a beautiful outswinger. His next wicket was almost a carbon copy of the first one but was against former Bangladesh captain Mominul Haque, who returned for a 15-ball 11.

Barring opener Mahmudul Hasan Joy, who scored a patient 65 off 116, no other batter reached 15. Mohammad Rameez claimed 2-41 as well, while Mohammad Ali and Umar Amin snared a scalp apiece. At stumps, the Shaheens were 2-0.

The four-day match will be followed by another unofficial Test and three unofficial ODIs. The series will run alongside to Bangladesh’s tour of Pakistan, starting from August 21.
