Naseem Shah was at his scintillating best for Leicestershire in their victory over Durham in their 2023 T20 Blast clash at Chester-le-Street.
The Pakistan speedster, 20, took 1-28 off his four overs as Leicestershire ended a five-game losing streak against a Durham side who were recently flying high in the North Group.
Naseem had gone for 23 runs off his first three overs before he was brought back into the attack for the penultimate over of the Durham innings. Bowling to Wayne Parnell, Naseem started the over with a wide before conceding two off the first legal delivery.
Naseem then produced a peach of a delivery, knocking out Parnell’s middle stump with an away-swinging yorker as the South Africa international gave himself room as he looked to heave Naseem over the off-side.
Leicestershire – whose attack also included internationals Rehan Ahmed and Naveen-ul-Haq – restricted Durham to 168-6 off their 20 overs, a total Leicestershire chased down with ease.
