Watch: After threatening to bowl a ‘ball of the century’ seemingly every week this summer, Matt Parkinson has now shown off his fielding skills in The Hundred, taking a stunning one-handed grab last night.

Matt Parkinson loves to give it a good, nice rip. We saw it in the County Championship, in the ODIs against Pakistan, again in the County Championship and then in The Hundred.

As though these weren’t enough to grab headlines, Parkinson went on to appease the critics with his humble statement in an interview with Wisden.com few months back -“They [CricViz] said I bowled the slowest – it was quite embarrassing actually – the slowest ball in the CricViz database, which is a real kick in the teeth…”

He might be the slowest through the air with the ball, but when on the field, Parkinson showed he is no mug. In The Hundred game between Manchester Originals and London Spirit last night, Parkinson rushed back from short third man to complete a perfect intervention to a reverse sweep from Adam Rossington.

The leg-spinner jumped backwards to hold onto a stunning one-handed grab to complete five miracles for the summer and frankly, it seems difficult to rank them from best to worst with each being as good as the previous one.
