On Thursday (August 29), left-arm spinner and TNCA President's XI captain M Siddharth took 8-21 to help bowl Gujarat out for just 58 in the third round of Buchi Babu tournament fixtures.
Gujarat had chosen to bat first on day one, and managed to score 371 in the first innings thanks to Jaymeet Patel's 144. In reply TNCA President's XI managed just 211 as Siddharth Desai took 6-61. At the end of day two, Gujarat were 2-2 as M Siddharth struck twice in the evening session.
The first wicket of day three went to P Vignesh, who dimissed Rinkesh Vaghela. Siddharth struck in the 21st over of the innings, Aditya Patel becoming his third victim. Vignesh then dismissed Umang Rohitkumar, but after that it was the Siddharth show.
He took all of the five remaining Gujarat wickets and just 7.2 overs after losing half their side, they were bowled out for a paltry 58. Siddharth and Vignesh were the only bowlers in operation for TNCA President's XI, bowling 16 and 15 overs respectively.
Siddharth finished with 8-21, adding to his haul of 6-76 in the first innings to finish with 14 wickets in the match. He made his IPL debut earlier this year for Lucknow Super Giants, and made waves when he dismissed Virat Kohli in Bengaluru.
