Watch: Kolkata Knight Riders all-rounder Ramandeep Singh took a stunning catch for India A against Pakistan Shaheens in the Men's T20 Emerging Teams Asia Cup on Saturday.

On Saturday, India A took on Pakistan Shaheens in the final first-round fixture of the tournament, which began on Friday (October 18).

India elected to bat first, and were given an electric start by Abhishek Sharma and Prabhsimran Singh, who scored 68 in the first six overs. The run rate slowed in the middle overs, but skipper Tilak Varma led the way with 44 to help his side to 183-8. Late contributions came from Ramandeep Singh (17) and Rasikh Salam, who hit the final ball of the innings for six.

Pakistan then got off to a solid start despite losing two wickets, scoring 57 in the Powerplay. Yasir Khan was the wrecker-in-chief at that point, and threatened to take the game away from India.

But in the ninth over, left-arm spinner Nishant Sindhu came on to bowl. Off the very first ball, Yasir went after him, trying to hit a short ball over the midwicket fence. But he mistimed the shot, not getting much elevation.

The ball went hard and low, and looked like it might still cross the rope for four runs, but Ramandeep Singh sprinted a few steps and pulled out a full-length dive, snatching the ball centimetres off the turf in an astonishing display of athleticism. India eventually went on to win by seven runs, thanks to some solid death bowling from Anshul Kamboj and Rasikh Salam.

This is the second incredible catch Ramandeep has pulled off of late, with another running effort against Lucknow Super Giants in IPL 2024 being named the catch of the tournament.

Ramandeep's effort drew praise from ex-India cricketer and current commentator Dinesh Karthik, who called it "one of the greatest catches ever by an Indian".
