Watch: 20-year-old Jordan Cox effected one of the most extraordinary pieces of fielding during the T20 Blast final between Kent and Somerset on Saturday.

During the fourth ball 14th over of the second innings, Somerset’s Lewis Gregory played a shot towards the leg-side boundary off the bowling of Darren Stevens. The ball was sailing over the rope for a six before Cox pulled off a stunning fielding effort. He leapt in the air, caught the ball with one hand before throwing it to his teammate Matt Milnes to complete an extraordinary relay catch.

Though the scorecard will read ‘c Milnes b Stevens’, Cox’s off-balance efforts to save the six and throw the ball into play before he crashed to the ground on the other side of the boundary, has made him the toast of the cricketing world.

The youngster also starred with the bat, smashing an unbeaten 58 off just 28 balls to help Kent to 167-7. Somerset would finish 25 runs short as Kent won their first T20 trophy since 2007.
