Watch: Before his move to Mumbai Indians for a whopping INR 6.2 crore in 2018, Ishan Kishan had a stunning game against the franchise for Gujarat Lions in 2017.
It’s no secret that Kishan is one of the most destructive limited-overs openers in domestic cricket in India now. It translated into a superb India debut for him in the second T20I against England on Sunday. But his talent was on full display quite a few times prior to that.
In 2017 in the Indian Premier League (IPL), playing for Gujarat Lions, Kishan was fearless in taking on Mumbai Indians‘ strong bowling attack. Opening the batting, his 48 off 35 balls to help GL to 153 batting first, a total that Mumbai would equal. MI would go on to win the one-over eliminator then.

Kishan, though, caught the eye of the franchise and its fans with his spectacular onslaught that included a hat-trick of boundaries of Mitchell McCleneghan.
