Sahil Parakh celebrates his century in the second Youth ODI between India Under-19 and Australia Under-19

Maharashtra-born opener Sahil Parakh starred with a quickfire century against Australia Under-19 to help India Under-19 win the second Youth ODI in Puducherry with nine wickets and 28 overs remaining. Watch the IND U19 v AUS U19 match highlights below.

The win was set up by a brilliant bowling display by the home side. Australia were off to a slow start after electing to bat first, losing opener Alex Lee Young in the 11th over for 36 runs. Mohamed Enaan provided the breakthrough by bowling Lee Young for a 41-ball 19. In the 13th over, Enaan ran out Riley Kingsell for 15 off 29.

Addison Sheriff and Christian Howe stitched a 61-run stand for the fifth wicket off 92 balls, but Hardik Raj ensured the partnership didn't go on for longer by dismissing Howe for 28 off 48 in the 41st over. Lincoln Hobbs tried to up the ante, scoring an eight-ball 16. Sheriff missed the chance to convert his innings into a half-century. He top-scored with 39 (61) as Australia were bowled out for 176 in 49.3 overs. Enaan, Samarth Nagaraj and Kiran Chormale picked up two wickets.

In response, India made light work of the target, thanks to a 75-ball 109 not out from Parakh, whose innings was studded with 14 fours and five sixes. Parakh was well supported by Abhigyan Kundu (53*). India gunned down the chase in 22 overs.
