The right-hander was in superb form in the game, smashing 71 runs off 46 deliveries. His aggressive knock had seven fours and four sixes, including the gigantic hit that almost went out of the stadium.
Guptill took on Adam Zampa in the ninth over of the chase, smacking three sixes against the wrist spinner. The six that landed on the roof was the first of the lot, coming off the second delivery of the over.
This is not the first time Guptill has launched a massive shot that landed on the roof – in a T20I against South Africa in 2012, he smacked Lonwabo Tsotsobe for a 127m six.
Guptill was adjudged Player of the Match in the fifth T20I against Australia.
