Jacks has already starred in the competition scoring 92 off 46 balls for Pretoria Capitals – currently favourites in the SA20 odds – against Sunrisers Eastern Cape, was once again the story as he took a fantastic one-handed catch on the boundary whilst he was still on the run.

Fielding out on the deep mid-wicket boundary, Jacks sprinted round to his right after Gerald Coetzee picked up a low full toss, the first ball he faced. It seemed destined to go for six.

As Jacks ran around the ball became too close to him to allow for a dive and too far away for him to reach with two hands. The only option that remained was to stick out a mitt and hope. An act that was timed perfectly as the ball stuck in his right hand and saw a packed Wanderers stadium go wild.

His celebration saw him run past his team’s dugout on the boundary where a teammate of his performed bowed in worship before the camera cut to coach Stephen Fleming looking on in disbelief.

The catch occurred in the final over of Joburg Super Kings innings and helped restrict them to 168. Their total proved to be too much for Pretoria Capitals, who ended up falling six runs short in an excellent encounter. Jacks himself managed 16 off 13 at the top of the order before he was bowled attempted a scoop shot off the bowling of Alzarri Joseph.
