Evin Lewis got the Harare Hurricanes to a spectacular start in a Zimbabwe Afro T10 League match. He faced two dot balls first up before smashing each of the next, from Tom Prestwidge, for sixes in just the second over of the match. To make matters worse for Prestwidge, the first of these was a no-ball.
Lewis then hit two more sixes off Sikandar Raza. He and Robin Uthappa took the Hurricanes to 64-0 off the first four overs of the innings. One of the sixes Lewis hit off Raza was powered high and straight down the ground off his back foot, clattering into the window of one of the boxes in the stadium.
The impact of the ball left a big crack in the glass, as a person inside the box ducked for cover. Raza, however, brought Lewis’s onslaught to an end, dismissing him with the last ball of his second over one short of a half-century.
Despite that start, the Hurricanes went on to lose the match. They finished on 134-4 from 10 overs, but the Bulawayo Braves chased down the target with five balls remaining. Raza was the main run scorer in the chase, blitzing 70 from 21 balls at a strike rate of 333, with six sixes and five fours.
