Watch: Dinesh Karthik was in full flow during his back against the wall century against Himachal Pradesh, even sweeping the seamer Vinay Galetiya for two sixes during his knock.
The experienced batter walked in at 34-3, and soon found his team at 40-4. After getting to a watchful start, Karthik opened his arms against Galetiya. He hit him for two sixes in the 21st over, the first of which was a crisp shot down the ground. The second six saw Karthik get down on one leg, and sweep the bowler towards the square leg boundary.
This wasn’t to be the only Mal Loye-style sweep six for Karthik. The batter got down on one leg in Galetiya’s very next over. This time he took a good length ball which was pitched outside off and deposited it over the square leg boundary. The batter scored a 103-ball 116 to propel his side to 314.
Tamil Nadu eventually lost the game, with Himachal emerging victors by 11 runs (VJD method).
