Watch: Deepak Chahar, in South Africa as a back-up to the India Test squad, caught the eye with some hooping swing bowling in the nets ahead of the start of the series.
Chahar is yet to make his Test debut, with 23 limited-overs caps to his name, but showed he’s more than handy with the red ball, finding appreciable movement through the air to trouble India’s batters during a practice session.
“Red ball is fun,” he tweeted, along with a video of him in action.

In a longer clip posted by a YouTube user, India head coach Rahul Dravid could be seen keeping wicket during the session, a sight that will bring joy to many India fans able to relive the memories of watching one of their country’s greatest players in action.
Dravid will have also had the perfect viewpoint to watch Chahar in action.
The South Africa-India Test series begins on Boxing Day at Johannesburg. India have never won a Test series in the country.
