Watch: After a fiery knock of 48 at the top of the order, David Warner was trapped in front of the wicket by Washington Sundar on the fourth day of the Brisbane Test.

The Australia opener looked in great touch in the first hour of play on the fourth day of the final Test against India in Brisbane. Along with Marcus Harris, he brought up the highest opening stand of the series, helping swell Australia’s lead into three figures.

The runs were scored at an impressive pace as well, with Australia maintaining a scoring rate of five through the first half-hour of play. Warner struck six boundaries in his dynamic innings, scoring 48 runs in just 75 balls.

However, just as the left-handed batsman was nearing his first fifty of the innings, he was dismissed by debutant Sundar. The impressive all-rounder now has 62 runs and four wickets already in this game. His introduction also helped mitigate Australia’s scoring rate, as Warner and Harris settled into a slightly slower rhythm.

The openers were dismissed on either side of the drinks break after an 89-run stand, which helped Australia move to a 122-run lead. Warner looked slightly uncertain and confused after his dismissal, subsequently opting for a referral. However, three reds flashed on the big screen, with the left-hander departing after losing the review.
