In the Port Elizabeth ODI in 2013, we see Steyn at his peak, befuddling the Pakistani left-hander, Jamshed, in the very first over of the innings. Steyn lands a delivery on a full length outside off-stump that Jamshed leaves after it goes on with the angle.
Next ball, Steyn lands the ball in the same spot but brings it back in to take out the stumps and give South Africa an early breakthrough.
Steyn’s remarkable abilities as a new ball bowler were evident in this perfect setup.
