Watch: Pat Cummins took the 15th and final wicket of an entertaining second day in the first Test between Australia and India.
Prithvi Shaw was the last man to fall in what proved to be a strong day for the tourists after a poor start: India lost their last four first-innings wickets for just 11 runs, but went on to bowl Australia out for 191 to gain a 53-run lead.
Ravichandran Ashwin was India’s star performer with the ball, returning figures of 4-55 from his 18 overs.
The dismissal of Josh Hazlewood in the final session left India with a brief but tricky period to negate under lights against the pink ball and they were unable to get through it unscathed: Shaw – who fell for a second-ball duck in the first innings to prolong a lean run of form dating back to the IPL – was the man to depart, with Cummins nipping one back in to beat the defence of the 21-year-old.
