Carlos Brathwaite smashes helmet

Watch: Carlos Brathwaite displayed his big-hitting ability in the Cayman Islands T10 today - but his helmet, not the ball, was the target, with the West Indian hitting his headgear way over the ropes in frustration.

In match two of the Super Three, Strikers batted first and made 104-8 from their ten overs, with several short cameos but no one big score. Brathwaite batted at No.7, and was on seven off four, having already hit a six, when he missed an attempted pull shot off Josh Little.

The ball came off his shoulder and lobbed up to wicketkeeper Ben Dunk, who completed an easy catch. As the Jaguars players appealed, the on-field umpire raised his finger and Brathwaite was given out, much to his disappointment and anguish.

The all-rounder stuck around for a moment before dragging himself off the pitch. As he walked off and neared the boundary, Brathwaite took off his helmet and smashed it towards his dugout with his bat, making it land beyond the boundary rope.

Eventually, 104 turned out to be enough as the Jaguars could only manage 96-5 in response. Brathwaite bowled two overs that cost only 16 runs, but didn't fetch any wickets.
