Watch: Bhuvneshwar Kumar picked up three wickets during the 2023 UP T20 League game for Noida Super Kings against Kanpur Superstars.

Batting first, Kanpur were sent on the backfoot early after the bowler produced a “Bhuvneshwar Kumar special” that swung away from opener Saurabh Dubey, sending an outside edge to the wicketkeeper. Kanpur lost their first wicket on just the fourth ball of the match, with the batter departing for a duck.

Bhuvneshwar returned in the death, and picked up two wickets in two overs: first dismissing Pranjal Saini and then sending back Prashant Chaudhary. He bowled a bouncer to Saini, who looked to play an uppercut but could only manage an edge behind. Chaudhary fell to an inswinger, finding it tough to get his bat down in time as it went on to rattle his stumps behind.

He ended with figures of 3-25 in his four overs, as Kanpur made 165-7 in their innings. An unbeaten 86 from skipper Nitish Rana ensured Noida chased down the target with eight wickets in hand.

Bhuvneshwar is currently not part of the India international setup, last playing ODIs and T20Is in 2022.
