Watch: Bangladesh all-rounder Mahedi Hasan took a wicket off an innocuous delivery that slipped out of his hands during a National Cricket League fixture between Khulna and Sylhet.
Mahedi, bowling the third ball of the 160th over of Sylhet’s innings, slipped it out of his hands high in the air. The ball was airborne for eternity as batter Asadulla Al Galib, batting then on 115, came out of his crease to his right to connect the moon ball slowly dipping into him.
He threw the kitchen sink at it from almost outside the pitch and fell on the ground in the process. However, it was a mistimed shot as substitute fielder Jawad Royen took the catch in the deep.
The dismissal, though off an innocuous delivery, ended a 251-run stand between Al Galib and captain Amite Hasan, who scored 213. Sylhet declared their innings for 496-7. Mahadi was the pick of the Khulna bowlers, taking four wickets off his 61 overs.
In response, Khulna went to stumps at 3-0.
