Watch: Mohammad Azharuddin, known for his wristy strokeplay throughout his career, turned back the clock as he flicked a ball for a six during a legends T10 game.
Playing in the four-team Friendship Cup in the UAE, also featuring teams Pakistan Legends, World XI Legends and Bollywood Kings, India Legends batter Azharuddin brought back memories of his dashing strokeplay as he effortlessly hit a six through deep midwicket off the bowling of Tillakaratne Dilshan.
The Sri Lankan sent down a loopy full-pitched ball in the eighth over of the innings, which saw Azharuddin dance down the track and wristily flick the ball for an astonishing maximum. What made the moment even more special was that the 59-year-old was batting with his son Mohammad Asaduddin, who has played two FC matches in 2018.
Azharuddin is currently the president of the Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA). In a 15-year India career, he hit more than 15,000 international runs, but the end of his playing career was marred by spot-fixing allegations.
