Watch: There was a cheeky exchange between Naseem Shah and Azam Khan in the Bangladesh Premier League, with Naseem attempting to embrace his Pakistan teammate before imitating him.
The two compatriots found themselves on opposite sides in the BPL clash between Khulna Tigers and Comilla Victorians, with Naseem still in good spirits despite Azam walking to the crease with his team on 197-2 after a 184-run stand between Tamim Iqbal (95 off 61) and Shai Hope (91 not out off 55).
Azam gave his side a big finish, smashing a four, a six and two singles in his four balls, but only after he had been given an amusing greeting by the young quick.
Naseem attempted to hug Azam and then shake the batter’s hand, with the No.4 pushing the youngster away both times. A grin from Azam showed that the hijinks were all in good fun, with Naseem then walking behind Azam with his arms spread out in an imitation of the Khulna Tigers’ player’s gait.
Naseem was right to be enjoying himself – Comilla Victorians would go on to complete a stunning chase with 10 balls to spare. Johnson Charles hit 107 not out off 57 balls, an innings which included a spree of seven sixes in 13 balls, while Mohammad Rizwan chipped in with 73 off 39.
