Watch: Axar Patel has been destructive with the new ball in his debut series, taking four wickets in his first over in each of the three innings he has bowled at the Narendra Modi Stadium so far.
Just three Test matches old, Axar has already taken 20 Test wickets and has made a big impact on this series. Here’s a video recap of his first-over wickets this series against England.
Third Test, first innings: Jonny Bairstow lbw Axar 0(9)
Brought on to bowl in the seventh over of day one in the pink ball Test, Axar had Bairstow trapped in front with an arm ball that skid off the surface and went straight on. The England batsman played down the wrong line and the ball went past the inside edge to rap the pads.

Zak Crawley had been dismissed by Axar Patel in the first innings of his first Test in India after making a solid half-century. In the brief knock, he revealed a few issues against left-arm spin. In the second innings, it took Axar just one attempt to send Crawley on his way. Taking the new ball, Axar bowled Crawley past his outside edge off the first delivery of the innings.

Fourth Test, first innings: Dom Sibley b Axar 2(8)
