Watch: Aiden Markram took a stunning catch at short leg to send back Abid Ali in the second Test between Pakistan and South Africa in Rawalpindi.
South Africa made a rousing start in Rawalpindi in the second Test, reducing Pakistan to 21-2 after 14 overs. The home team were put under immense pressure after 14 overs with South Africa taking two wickets in five overs without conceding a run.
Anrich Nortje was into his sixth over from one end and persisted with a mix of full, seaming deliveries and the odd bouncer against Abid Ali. Off the fifth ball of the over, Nortje bowled a 146kmph delivery on Abid’s hips.
The ball kicked off a length and caught Abid by surprise. The batsman nudged in an attempt to steal a single through square leg. Markram, stationed at short leg, leaped towards his right to grab onto a spectacular catch to reduce Pakistan to 22-3. The hosts are still favourites according to the casino apps, but some more spectacular efforts could help turn the scales.
