Watch: Non-striker Ahmed Shehzad was run out in extraordinary circumstances after being caught unawares in a National T20 Cup clash.
During the fifth over of Central Punjab innings against Sindh, Hussain Talat drove a Mir Hamza delivery, which was stopped by the fielder at mid-off. The batters were undecided on taking a quick single, which led to Talat uttering a few words to Shehzad. The non-striker was slow to turn around and ground his bat as Anwar Ali’s direct hit dislodged the bails.
TV replays showed that Shehzad, who ambled his way back to the crease, had his bat on the line, forcing the commentators on air to call him “lazy” as he walked to the pavilion for 20.
