While Wood was exceptional for England early in the game, Kohli looked in imperious touch towards the end of the India innings. The pace bowler had picked up figures of 3-14 before coming on to bowl the 18th over, when the India skipper was batting on 50. Despite Wood’s exceptional performance in the game until that point, Kohli took him on effortlessly, playing three masterful shots in three balls.
It was Kohli’s 46-ball 77* that helped India recover from a nightmare start to post 156-6 in their 20 overs. While the hosts lost the game, their captain seems to have returned to form with back-to-back half-centuries.
