Watch: Misbah Ul Haq turned back the clock with an exhibition of vintage strokeplay on his way to a rapid 19-ball 44 in the 2023 Legends League Cricket.
Playing for Asia Lions against World Giants in the 10-overs-a-side match in Doha, Misbah came in the middle with the score reading 39-3 in 5.2 overs, his long-time Pakistan teammate Shahid Afridi departing on 2 off 2.
Misbah faced 19 off the next 26 balls, smashing an unbeaten 44 to take his side to 99. He clanked three sixes and four fours in the process, helped along by opener Tillakaratne Dilshan, who also remained not out, on a 24-ball 32.
One of Misbah’s sixes came off Paul Collingwood in the final over: he danced down the track and launched the medium-pacer (now mostly bowling offies) over the long-on fence.
Lions ended up winning comfortably, keeping the Giants to 64-5 in 10. Afridi and Abdur Razzak took two wickets each.
