In this video, Lara, the leg-spinner, is seen bowling his final over in international cricket in any format. In an ODI against Australia in 2003 at Port of Spain, Lara came in to bowl with Australia needing an impossible 55 runs to win off the final over.

Nathan Hauritz possibly saw this as an opportunity to increase his career batting average, or to avenge for all the runs Lara scored off him earlier in the game. 15 runs, including a four and a six, came in the over as Australia eventually lost by 39 runs. He even made a few field adjustments before the final delivery of the 19th over of his career, conceding one run. Thereafter, Lara didn’t bowl again, right until his retirement in 2007.
