David Warner surpassed Sir Donald Bradman’s tally and crossed 7000 Test runs during Australia’s day-night Test in Perth against New Zealand on Saturday, December 14.
Opening in the second innings with Australia leading by 250 runs, Warner crossed the 7000-run mark with his second boundary of the innings. He became the 12th Australian to achieve the feat, also crossing Bradman’s tally of 6996 runs.

Warner reached the mark in 151 Test innings, making him the joint fifth-fastest to the mark for Australia, alongside Greg Chappell. It also put him at par with AB de Villiers, Alastair Cook and Jacques Kallis.

He is now the second fastest Australian opener to reach the landmark, after Matthew Hayden.

Incidentally, his teammate Steve Smith became the fastest to the 7000-run mark in the Adelaide Test against Pakistan last month. Smith reached the landmark in 126 innings, bettering Walter Hammond’s tally of 131 innings.
In the same innings, Warner surpassed Bradman’s highest Test score of 334, compiling an unbeaten 335, his best Test score, and the second highest by an Australian after Matthew Hayden’s 380.
