His Test tally of 708 wickets is a whopping figure in itself, but Shane Warne has been made to wonder if it could have been a lot more after revisiting a Steve Bucknor shocker from 2002.
Recently, Rob Moody, a popular video librarian, posted a reel on Twitter from Australia’s Test series against Pakistan in 2002. The video features a delivery from Warne that seems to have the batsman, Misbah-ul-Haq, trapped leg-before, only for umpire Steve Bucknor to shake his head at the seemingly plumb dismissal.
Hahahaha ! How many more wickets with DRS ?????? 😂😂 https://t.co/E3Xof48hWr

Moody posted the video with the caption, “CLASSIC STEVE BUCKNOR UMPIRING GOLD! Here’s yet another example of Steve having no idea. Warnie cannot believe it. Middle stump.”
Warne responded to the video, tweeting “Hahahaha! How many more wickets with DRS ??????”
With no Decision Review System in place back then, Warne couldn’t do more than stare back in disbelief at Bucknor. DRS was introduced for the first time in 2009, two years after Warne retired from international cricket.

For the record, Warne did eventually dismiss Misbah later in the innings of that Sharjah Test. It was – you guessed it – leg-before.

Warne seemed to have taken a liking for Moody’s golden collection; not long after, he retweeted another video, a two-plus minute-long compilation of him dismissing Michael Atherton in Tests, a feat he managed 10 times in 22 games.
The leg-spinner couldn’t restrain himself, tweeting: Thanks Rob for these great memories! Fun times – agree @Athersmike?”
